Hydrogeography-Based Fabric Assessment of Heritage Warehouses

Brick warehouses represent a form of heritage at different level reactivation. Interdisciplinary exploration social, cultural, and economic development has raised questions regarding the roles these buildings played in past how continued to evolve with surrounding fabric. This study aimed explore spatiotemporal relationship between nine red brick historical urban fabric Taipei metropolitan area, Taiwan. The was defined by quantitative trend assessment architecture, river, tributaries, railroad, based on maps created 1890 2020. interactions comprised single, meta, determining indicators. evolved two trends comprising intersections, maturity, fluctuation. consistent architecture’s ascending used as reference indicator, relative scale fully developed stage 100%. meta-relationship had higher percentage greater occurrence closer present. totaled 67.74% after 1945 remained above 50%, another indicator evolving frequency intensity. warehouses, which were part tributary branch system, 11 intersections 1950 1990. We concluded that former active, supportive role changed passive role, corresponding instrumentation all trends. functioned trendsetters interacted fabrics sustainable urbanization process. caused substitution, replacement, degenerated dependence, diverted two-way hydrogeography.
